    Privacy policy

What RetirementPlanner.ca collects, what it doesn't, and your choices.

    Calculators

All calculators run in your web browser. The numbers you enter are not sent to us or stored on our servers. If you copy a tool's link, your inputs are included in that link's address; share it only with people you want to see them. Downloads (text and CSV files) are created on your own device.

    Guided planning chat

If you choose to start the guided chat on the home page, the messages you type are sent through our hosting provider's server function to an AI assistant service so it can reply. Don't include your SIN, account numbers or other sensitive information. The chat is optional and educational.

    Email sign-up

The email form on the home page (after the guided chat, or on its own) is optional. When you submit it, we send your email address, the first name if you add one, any chat summary answers (age, province, income, savings), the page address and basic browser details to the RetirementPlanner.ca team by email, through the MITEY network's server function and an email delivery service, so we can follow up about tools and guides. The server also notes your IP address and country. If sending fails, the form tells you so. We do not sell personal information.

    Email

If you email us, we use your message and address to reply and keep them only as long as needed for that purpose.

    Hosting, fonts and logs

Like most websites, our hosting provider may log basic technical information (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and reliability. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. We don't use advertising trackers.

    Your rights and contact

You can ask what personal information we hold about you and request correction or deletion by writing to the contact page. Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial laws apply.
